Pricing and Booking Questions
Call (07) 3522 5633What does it cost to have a blocked drain cleared?
There is no set figure we can quote blind, because access, depth, pipe material and the cause all change the job. We find the cause first, then agree a fixed upfront price with you before any work starts.
Can I get a price before committing to the job?
Yes. The plumber locates the problem, explains what the fix involves and gives you the price in writing. Nothing begins until you have agreed to that figure, so there are no hourly surprises later.
How do I pay once the work is done?
You pay by card or EFTPOS on the day, once the drain has been tested and you have seen water running freely through the line. There is nothing to arrange beforehand.
Can we usually be there the same day?
Usually, yes, particularly for morning calls. We can usually be there the same day, so ring early and say which drains are misbehaving, whether that is a slow shower, a gurgling gully or a pan filling high.
What if the blockage turns out to be in the street main?
Your drains are your responsibility as far as the connection point, and Unitywater maintains the mains beyond it. If the camera shows the fault sits in their main, we tell you plainly so you can contact them.
Do you cover Woorim, Sandstone Point and Bellara as well?
We do. Those three suburbs sit on the same regular run as Bongaree, and each has its own page describing the ground, the pipes and the drain problems common to that particular spot.
Drains and the Local Area Questions
Call (07) 3522 5633Can trees near Buckleys Hole reach house drains?
Roots follow moisture, and woodland edges back onto yards in the southern part of the suburb. Any joint that weeps dampness into sandy soil is a target, so a camera check finds the entry point before clearing.
Does beach sand really end up inside drain pipes?
It does. Sand comes off feet, towels and paws at the door, washes down outdoor gullies and settles where a pipe has little fall. Once a crack lets groundwater carry more in, the build-up keeps returning.
When should gullies be checked before storm season?
Early in the season, before the first serious summer rain. A gully choked with sand or leaves cannot cope with a downpour, and clearing it in dry weather is a far simpler job than bailing out a flooded yard.
Are drains in villa and retirement complexes different?
Often, because shared risers and common drain runs connect several homes. A single slow pan in a villa complex can signal a choke affecting several homes at once, so it is worth reporting early rather than waiting.
Which pipes can a camera inspection actually reach?
The camera travels through building drains and branch lines from an access point, showing cracks, roots, sags and sand build-up along the way. It will not travel through Unitywater's mains, which sit outside a private inspection.
How do I book a drain visit?
Ring (07) 3522 5633 with the details of the drain causing trouble and how long it has been building. We will set a time, usually same-day where we can, and nothing starts until you have agreed the price.
